Investing in the Team Behind the Portfolio: The REEP Rally
Strong returns in multifamily real estate start long before a lease is signed. They start with the team running the property. This August, REEP reinforced that idea with the REEP Rally, our newest and largest all-company gathering to date, held August 26–27, 2026, at the Eilan Hotel & Spa at La Cantera in San Antonio.
Every year, REEP brings together team members from San Antonio, Houston, and Austin for a day of alignment and celebration. This year, we expanded it: a full additional day dedicated entirely to our operations leadership, ahead of the company-wide gathering that followed.
That first day was about education and training— the kind that protects asset performance across a growing portfolio. Property managers and operations staff spent the day reinforcing standard operating procedures and process improvements designed to keep execution sharp as REEP scales across markets. For a company managing assets across multiple metros, that kind of alignment isn’t a nice-to-have. It’s part of how we protect investor value.
Day two brought all REEP employees into one room, a gathering few multifamily operators can execute, and a signal of how far the company has grown. The agenda included a look at current apartment market data across Houston, San Antonio, Austin, and Dallas, giving every team member, regardless of role or market, a shared view of the fundamentals shaping our investment decisions.
Running through both days was a message we hold ourselves to at every level of the organization: Tell the Truth. Be Committed. Work Together to Drive Results.
The Partners Behind the Performance
REEP’s operating model depends on strong vendor relationships as much as strong internal execution. We were glad to welcome several of those partners in person this year, including Apartments.com, Zillow, CoStar, RealPage, Gambit Construction, Ferguson, PetScreening, Rasa Floors, and Dixie Carpet Installations — each playing a role in the systems and services that keep our communities running well and our residents satisfied.
A Culture That Compounds
Before the broader agenda got underway, our managers took time to assemble blessing bags filled with daily essentials for the THRU Project, a San Antonio nonprofit supporting youth aging out of foster care. It’s a small detail in a two-day agenda, but it reflects something we believe matters to long-term performance: a company culture built on more than the bottom line tends to retain the people who drive that bottom line.
Looking Ahead
Events like the REEP Rally are ultimately an investment in retention, consistency, and execution — the same factors that drive net operating income across a multifamily portfolio. As REEP continues to grow across Texas, gatherings like this one keep 135 people, four markets, and one operating standard moving in the same direction.
